The TMC 2488 Nymph Fly Hook is a must-have for fly tyers looking to create realistic and effective nymph, emerger, and midge patterns. Featuring a short shank, wide gape, and extra-fine wire, this hook enhances hook-ups while maintaining a natural presentation. The down eye ensures secure thread wraps, making it an excellent choice for delicate flies that need to sit correctly in the water column.
Designed for midges, emergers, and small nymphs, the TMC 2488 excels in technical fishing situations where precision is key.
Features
Style: Down eye for secure thread wraps and fly presentation.
Wire: Extra-fine for a delicate, natural drift.
Shank: Short shank, ideal for midges, emergers, and small nymphs.
Gape: Wide gape for improved hook-ups.
Finish: Bronze for a classic look and corrosion resistance.
Hooks are perfect for use on patterns like the jujubaetis, morgans midge, barr's emerger, and a variety of subsurface and a few surface patterns.

Great for many midge and dry fly patterns
These hooks I use for midge and dun patterns by Phil Iwane as well as for the RS2 pattern by Rim Chung. They are strong and consistently well made. They are more expensive than other hooks, however.
