I've used a lot of pheasant rump feathers before I bought this, but I had to pick them off of skins. Whether you're wrapping the feathers around the collar like hackle or tying them on whole, they make for really buggy streamers. You can also use the bottom half of the marabou like section for dubbing, or dubbing loops for the same natural bug look.
