Balanced Stonefly wings are easily formed by placing a feather between the two leaves of the tweezers and burning the outer edges. These burners are 3 5/8 inch long, made of solid brass sheet and come in a set of 3 sizes.
All the sizes one should need for cut-wing Stone flies without breaking the bank. I set out to make my own until I came across these. Exactly what I was going to make; similar cost without my labor and ,ultimately, frustration.

My experience with this...
My experience with this burner has been mixed. If you use a stiff material such as a treated feather or possibly synthetic or 3rd party material then the wing comes out with a decent shape and easy to tie in. If you use a thin material sensitive to heat or untreated feather then it has a tendency to curl and split when attempting to tie it in. Either way, don't hover your face over it when you burn it. Be prepared for wifey to say... whats that smell?
