alternate to chenille

Normally for a Worm fly tied on an Ahrex Texas Predator Hook 1/0, mop chenille is used as an alternative using a larger 3/0 hook I used a Predator Worm 9 for the lure for Fly Rod, successfully! Great action, Great Strikes. Now for Cobia or Striped Bass …

Excellent bass fly material

I caught several smallmouth bass on one fly i tied. Brandling color, the material is tough, flexible and the best I’ve used to
Imitate a natural worm. Wish i could get it in dark olive.

I've had a little...

I've had a little experience with this and the Sluch Jelly. They make some really cool materials. This stuff has great action and despite the bulk of the material, it gets down very quickly. I tie these on a size 10 2x long nymph hook with a tungsten head. I just do about a 1.5x long tail and wrap the body with the same material. Then just do a quick dubbing loop collar and you're good to go. The brandling worm has gotta be one of the most vibrant and beautiful colors underwater. The first time I fished it was a sunny day on a spring-fed river and it was very satisfying to watch underwater. Damn what the fish think. I just found it very relaxing. PS, the fish love it.
