As the product descriptions says, these quills are perfect for making really nice bodies on many different fly patterns... This product does have a sticky back and will stick to the underbody materials, which is nice because that eliminates the use of superglue or another adhesive on the underbody to keep the quill from slipping on the hook. It can also be cut to varying lengths to cover all hook and fly body sizes as necessary. Because it's a thin, clear synthetic material, a simple thread color switch will change the under body color to match any hatch. Personally, I will add a strand of clear UV flashabou to wrap over the top of the quill body and then coat the entire body with a thin coat of UV resin to make these synthetic quill bodies near "bullet proof" or in this instance, fish tooth proof. Wonderful product for those that struggle with natural quills!
