Montana Fly Company Barred Saddle Hackle is selected and dyed specifically for streamer and bugger work — long, webby fibers with a pronounced barring pattern that creates the broken, segmented silhouette predatory fish respond to in a way uniform solid color doesn't.

The barring pulses with the hackle's natural movement in current, so each fiber works independently rather than collapsing into a single mass. MFC saddle runs long with consistent fiber length along the stem — enough usable fiber per feather to palmer a full shank on a size 4 Woolly Bugger or Bunny Bugger without splicing, and webby enough to push water without collapsing under casting pressure.
