They should taper the tails to make tying easier. also the metal is super slick so they can slip easily

These are spend y but a nice addition for certain applications. I gave only 4 stars as the tie in point can create a lump in smaller flies. Not enough for me to re-grind the tie in tab though.

In addition to weight one of the best features is the "smoke trail" these things create in soft bottoms. Just like the real thing. They also add more sink rate options on the weight of the fly, paired with no eyes, bead chain, or heavier. When paired with tungsten eyes this will get the fly down in deeper water or stronger currents. A worthwhile addition if used judiciously.

As mentioned by someone else the medium size seems a bit small. These add a little weight and a little wiggle. I like them for brown wooly big types for smallmouth.
