I bought this half saddle for the color. I wanted a badger half saddle and it always seems like the more expensive Metz / Whitings are always out of stock or not offered. So... I bought this saddle from Ewing and I was very please in the quality of the feathers. The color is exactly what I wanted, and the stems seem to be perfectly balanced in stiffness and barbules. Most of the feathers I can see and gauge appear to range between #10 to #16 and there might be 3 or 4 that you could tie down to a #18 with. The feather length is very nice and I expect to tie well over 150 flies with this. Overall, I'm very pleased, I got the color I wanted and it didn't kill my wallet.
