Tied by Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions
When sulphurs are hatching, few patterns are more reliable than the Comparadun—and this version tied by Tim Flagler is about as dialed-in as it gets. If he had to fish just one fly during a sulphur hatch, this would be the one.
Unlike parachutes or Catskill-style dries, the Sulphur Comparadun sits flush in the film, offering a more subtle profile that picky trout often prefer. The upright deer hair wing provides good visibility for the angler, while the slim, tapered body closely mimics natural duns.
It’s especially effective in calm or slow water where trout get a long look at your fly. The low-riding posture and realistic footprint of the Comparadun make it a go-to fly for pressured fish and clear water conditions.
