The Half N’ Half is a powerhouse hybrid fly designed by Bob Clouser, and its name says it all. The rear half borrows from Lefty Kreh’s legendary Deceiver, while the front half comes straight from Clouser’s own Minnow. It’s a big-fish magnet that’s been trusted for years in both freshwater and salt.
As Bob Clouser himself puts it:
“A combination of the two most effective flies we ever used; the rear is Lefty’s Deceiver and the front portion is a Clouser Minnow. A proven big fish fly especially for big bass and stripers or saltwater species. All with epoxy-protected heads, metallic eyes and appropriate flash material.”
This version is tied by J. Stockard Pro Tyers John and Katie Demuth, who first demonstrated their take on the fly via the Whiting Farms Facebook page. Their approach preserves the original spirit of the pattern while adding fresh visual punch and durability with quality materials like Whiting saddles and Semperfli components.
