Created by Pete Narancich, a rancher in Montana in 1964, the Big Hole Demon has been an effective and popular fly patern for almost 60 years. The BHD can be tied and fished as either a nymph or streamer.

Hook: #2-10 streamer
Thread: Black
Tail: Jungle cock body feather, or badger hackle
Rib: Silver wire rib, optional
Body: Flat silver Mylar tinsel
Thorax: Black chenille
Hackle: Black or badger rooster
