This handy, durable tool bag will last for years and keep your tools organized and handy at the tying desk or while travelling. The main compartment of the bag features heavy elastic retainers to tuck and hold 7 large tools (such as a vise, hair stacker and forceps) and 14 narrow tools (such as bobbins, bodkins and scissors). It also has four 3.5 inch x 9 inch sleeves for materials - 2 with translucent plastic sides and 2 with fabric mesh sides, all with zipper closures. These sleeves attach to the bag's interior with velcro so they can be moved or re-arranged. There are 2 side compartments, 4 x 7 and 7 x 11 inches, for storage of materials or additional tools. The bag is made of tough Cordura fabric, has a web carrying handle and the J. Stockard logo is embroidered on the small outside compartment. Overall size is 12 inches W x 9 inches H. Vise and tools are NOT included.
I used to use a large tool box to carry all my fly tying gear, but found it cumbersome when I was going on a trip or to the river. This bag carries everything I need.

Great travel bag
I have had several travel tying bags, some just plastic containers, some expensive zippered bags. Price to value, this is by far the best. I teach tying to Project Healing Waters, Trout unlimited and several club seminars. I also travel during summer in my motorhome to fishing destinations. It holds everything I need in small amounts. It won’t hold my Norvise, but handles my Regal and Dyna-King perfectly along with their bases. I even have a small materials caddy in it. It’s easy to transport and carry. I have a Fishpond for my Norvise but usually teach with my Regal which works out well. I ended up purchasing 5 more for my PHW Students; they love them.

A Great, Small Bag for a Tying Night
It's a great, small bag for a tying night at a club or store. I bought one of J Stockard's Tungsten Carbide vises (https://www.jsflyfishing.com/products/tungsten-carbide-vise?variant=43376486416613), with both c-clamp pedestal bases, as a travel vise. It fits nicely in this bag along with a collapsible, rechargeable LED light, some vice accessories, a basic complement of tying tools and a selected quantity and variety of tying materials. It would probably not be a great bag for everyday general storage or to transport a large quantity and variety of materials or for a weeklong trip to an exotic location where you plan to tie everything you need on location, but assuming you are planning to limit your tying to a limited number of select flies or you are going to a tying event where many materials are available this bag is an excellent choice.
