Magic Quills

These are absolutely awesome for ribbing and segmenting. They are tapered and super easy to use. I love this product.

I like them because they are sturdy and tapered. This allows a wide variety of size uses. Tacky on one side. Can be a bit fiddly getting the first wrap to orient correctly, but after that, no worries.

Got some to try, and the results are good overall.

Because it is not tapered, it is a bit tough to get a clean start on the hook while tying, but if you trim a little taper to begin with it works well.

The black line is an add on and it tends to come off the material when you tie, so be careful to catch the black line and clear material well when you tie it down. (a plastic piece adhered to the translucent main strip)

Still, once tied, it provides an excellent 3D appearance, excellent translucence, and great segmentation. I will buy it again, but I will be aware of the learning curve to use it.
