Kaiman Vise

Well, I've been trying for 60+ years. Started on a Thompson Model B. While the Regal, with stainless steel jaws can't be beat, I ordered the Kaiman. Beautifully made of quality materials; easy to use and superb holding strength with broad range of hooks. It is becoming my favorite, although I have a few things stations and don't neglect my Regals. Recommend this vise highly!!

I’ve had this vice for quite some time, I bought it as an alternative to my true rotary vice, and can say it has become my favorite. The kaimen may be the most thoughtfully designed vice I’ve used. The jaws are both sturdy and versatile, holding flies from size 28 to 6/0, the clamp mechanism is simple and strong, and the overall fit and finish is tight and refined. Every piece of metal in this vice is smoothly finished and a joy to use. The only improvement I would suggest would be to make the base shorter overall. The pedestal combined with a very tall column makes this base a bit difficult to accommodate in my fishpond tying bag.

I’ve been tying flies for about 25 years. This vise is perfect for my needs! I tie bugs from size 22 to size 2. The jaws on the Stonfo Kaiman are awesome. They hold the hooks securely and the travel version stays put when I put pull tight on the thread. I wish I had another one to teach my grandson!
