One of the flies that No fly box should be without! This simple but classic dry fly pattern can imitate just about everything on the water that is black and can be fished the whole year round. The ideal sizes are from a # 12 down to a # 20.

Materials
Hook: Mustad Heritage Classic dry R50 # 16
Tying thread: Sheer 14/0 black
Tail: Black cock hackle fibres
Body: Superfine dubbing black
Wings: Mallard duck wing slips
Hackle: Natural black saddle
