Marabou Strung Blood Quills

I teach a beginners fly tying class for the Platte Rivers Veterans Flyfishing organization and our first pattern is the Woolly Bugger. The Hareline Strung Maribor is affordable and of pretty good quality. I look for tail feathers that are bushy versus the feathers that have long thin barbules and the Hareline packs are good for that. I use the feathers with the long thin barbules to tie Thin Mint streamers for my daughter’s cafe where she offers a fisherman’s lunch that includes a free fly. I tie about 200 dozen flies a year.

You get a good amount of feathers for the price, great color selection. From buggers to carp flies these cover all the bases.
