No other feathers even compare in my opinion. Whiting dry fly feathers are expensive for a reason. You get what you pay for. High quality, dense, gorgeous feathers in a variety of hackle sizes from about size 22-14 in the package I purchased. Far more feathers in the 14-16 range but there are some tints for those tiny dry flies. There are some good YouTube videos for Whiting Farms, if you’re interested, that demonstrate the meticulous process for creating and grading these beautiful feathers. Pro Grade feathers are just as beautiful as the Platinum grade feathers, only shorter… so you have less feather to work with in a Pro Grade, but NOT less quality with Whiting. Some things in life are worth the extra cost; even if you’re just starting out tying your own flies, these Whiting feathers are worth the investment. Pro grade are exceptionally good feathers, but in a price range that you can swallow without choking.
