Gotta give this product an easy 3 thumbs up and 6 out of 5 star rating. Can't beat it's bugginess and ease to apply. Use in a dub loop, split thread technique, or regular dub noodle. Either way your getting a spikey application. Brilliant colors and the right amount of flash to trigger those shy fish and add transparency too.
Great product.
I don't know why the ratings for this product are so low. I've been using this for a while and love it. The only down side is it can be a little inconsistent sometimes you get a lot more synthetic and less squirrel but overall it is awesome to tie with. I use it on nymphs and emergers to get a really spikey look and I've been using it as well in a version of the bugmiester and I love it, it really as a lot of legs and movment to a pattern.
This stuff is about the best buggy nymph dubbing out there. I find that i am reaching for it with most of my nymphs. Davy Wotton really was onto something with the SLF and this dubbing has the SLF and the spikey squirrel added in and really drives fish wild. Its a must have if you are tying nymphs and really excels with touch dubbing and spinning.
I like this dubbing especially for collars on my jig flies. I've been tying my hares ear and pheasant tail jig flies with a dubbing loop of dark brown SLF Squirrel dubbing as a collar to take the place of a wing case and or legs. I also use it instead of hackle on my jig prince nymphs. It's a much quicker tie for me and the fish (so far) don't seem to care.
