It's not quite the sinker replacement I thought it would be, but it works well enough that I reach for it instead of split shot when I need to sink a fly. It doesn't get too cold in Texas, so I don't know how it handles in icy temps, but it stays pliable down to about 32. You just roll it up a bit to warm it, and twist it onto your line. It stays on fairly well (though I've lost bits of it here and there) and is reusable. The biggest issue I've found is that it is hard to work with when you have wet hands. Tough on a rainy day.
