I have been tying for decades and have a room full of materials. I've tried several spool storage solutions over the years. Last year I purchased one of these UTC Spool boxes and Voilà, I found this box to be the most efficient, convenient to use product yet for spool storage. You get 40 spools of thread, wire tinsel, whatever in on relatively compact unit. That's a lot of spools, even for a materials hoarder like me(I needed 2 for all the stuff I have). The clear top makes it easy to find which item you are looking for. As an added bonus, you get the convenience of pulling out wire, lead, or tinsel to the length you need without removing the spool from the box. This is the best fly tying item I acquired in quite a few years. I now have all my spools in a small space, arranged so that each item is easy to locate. This is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.
