bought this tool to clean hook eyes,and it works very well for this task. nice stout needle, and well built. the size is nice to hold onto as well. an added bonus i found is that it works very good at splitting thread at the tying bench. i have used it to split veevues 14/0 - 16/0 utc 70 and uni 8/0. of course uni is the most difficult, but it did spit it as well. the nice feature about this tool is the needle point is rounded and blunt, which is a pleasure to use, as opposed to the many other needles i have used that have very sharp needle points. you're finger will thank you. this is definitely my favorite.
