Bobbin Stainless

I purchased several of these, and I have had to use a very small, very fine file on all of them to smooth off the rough finish on both ends of the bobbin tube since all the bobbin holders cut thread, even thicker threads, until I fix them. You can feel the rough finish on both ends with your fingers. Stockard needs to either change their supplier or find a way to hold that supplier to higher quality standards. I won't buy any more of these from Stockard.

1 star is BEYOND kind. Can't leave 0 stars (although negative stars would be more honest). You couldn't pay me use these things. I bought half a dozen bobbin holders from J Stockard. And I LOVE J Stockard - been buying materials from them for years, LOTS of stuff - I love 'em. But these bobbin holders are absolute junk. Seriously, even at the price of $2.75...if you buy these, just take $2 out of wallet and BURN IT! You'll get the same result. I bought 4 regular, 2 midge, and 1 large tube. Out of the 6, ONE of the midge size worked. Everything else just shredded thread. IF you tie with 4/0 or 6/0 thread with no pressure, MAYBE you can make these work. I DO HAVE TO SAY, the first one I noticed was the wide tube - it may as well have been a razor. I told them about it and they refunded me, no questions asked. So good on J Stockard - exactly what I expect. But the rest? I would rather leave this review, eat the cost, and tell you the TRUTH! At this price, if even HALF of them had worked, I would've been OK with it. But 1 out of 6? No way. I expect better from J Stockard, end of story.

I bought several to help teach kids to tie flies. They are defective. Every single one of them cuts thread like a knife. I don't usually leave bad reviews for products, but these aren't worth $2.75. They aren't worth anything in my opinion because you can't use them. I guess I learned that I need to just stick to better quality ceramic bobbins.
