Dr. Slick developed ultra slick glass inserts to handle new synthetic threads as well as traditional extra fine threads (8/0 and finer). These funnel shaped inserts also allow for smoother application of thread as the bobbin is rotated and cause less breakage than traditional pipe or straight edged inserts.

Great tools

Dr.Slick has large selection of high quality tools, and accessories ,all priced very reasonably. Definitely recommended trying them,they are nice tools for the pro or the novice

Looking for a better replacement Bobbin

Have only had the 3 inch Glass Bobbin a short time. Like the way it feels and works for tying tiny flies. Seems most of my old Bobbins are getting burrs and scars which break tying threads. This is something new to me,"Glass lined". Liking the smallness and design of the Bobbin'' now, waiting on the durability! I would buy this one again!
