Fly Tying Kits - Fish-Skull Crawdaddy

The time, and money spent getting the items necessary to build a good craw pattern is made a thing of the past. EVERYTHING you need to tie this productive pattern is in the package.
Except, that is, for those items most every tier already has in use.
Markers are not needed, but they do add a bit of pizazz.

So, this is a fantastic idea... "Everything you need" it says, however, that's not exactly accurate. This particular kit says it includes everything you need to tie 8 crayfish flies, but I ran out of wire ribbing after 4 flies and the 1 color of the chenille just barely did the 4, making it sparsely wrapped to stretch material life to cover the 4. The instructions are nice and easy to follow with color photo step by steps. This is a fantastic idea for a kitted tying pack, but keep in mind you'll need to have some back-up plan materials for when you run out of the included "everything you need" materials in the kit. That aside, they look really great! Very lifelike... However, another big disappointment comes in the way that they don't perform well in the water fishing them. I had a chance to fish these flies, tied exactly as instructions said and they ride upside down, or rather hook point down which is opposite of how they should ride! Again, I love the concept of this kit and the flies are easy to tie and look great. However, they'll need some modifications so they'll fish correctly and you'll also probably need some extra materials to finish all 8 crayfish...
