Snowshoe Rabbit Feet

I’m a novice fly tier and this is my first time using snowshoe. It takes some getting used to. I tied some excellent tan caddis flys. Caught a 16” rainbow on the first time using them , second cast.

I'm not impressed with this particular brand of snowshoe. What I can use is fine but no underneath fur that we like to extract. Maybe I just got some junk but the rating stands. Could be a snowshoe rabbit isn't a hare. I really don't know

Do yourself a favor and buy some of the natural / cream hares feet. Tie in an appropriate sized bunch for the wing but tie it in comparadun style and then tie in your tail also using the hares feet. Use bright orange or green thread and dub the body with the underfur from the wings. You'll get a great high floating fly called the "Usual" also known as the "Haystack". The hares feet is an easy material to tie with and the package lasts quite a long time. Great product.
