Great product!

I use UNI Thread 95% of the time when tying flies. The 8/0 works great for size 16 and smaller flies. I like the vast assortment of colors that is offered in this thread.

Perfect all-around thread

Reviewer: A viewer from Clarks Summit, PA US

this thread is the perfect all-around thread, ties well without adding much bulk, very strong, and is the ideal thread for all but the smallest trout flies.

Not the best

Reviewer: A viewer from Hamilton, MI US

Not really my favorite thread, it is ok for tying the fly, but when I try and whip finish more than four or five wraps it breaks when I try to pull the loop closed. It is strong, but for some reason it seems to break easily during a whip finish. I much prefer UTC.

I thought I was the only one!

Reviewer: A viewer from Upstate South Carolina

8/0 Uni-Thread remains my go-to thread for just about everything that I tie except for big bass flies and saltwater flies. I decided to read the reviews just to see what others had to say about 8/0 Uni. I was surprised to hear their complaints about breaking during whip finishing. I thought that I was the only person who had this problem and attributed the breaking to a flaw in my whip-finish technique, perhaps being a little too rough at some point in the process. Nice to know that I'm not alone. I still like 8/0 Uni and will continue to use it. It doesn't break often and when it does, the whip finish seems to stay firmly in place.

Not bad

I prefer UTC 70 but for any trout fly that doesnt need super low build thread this works. Its also much better value than UTC when you dont need it to lay ultra flat because you get a whole 200 yards per spool.
