This new '477' has been specially developed to replicate as close as possible to the classic Sawyer Bug tying wool. Originally Sawyer used Chadwick 477 and though perfectionists found other substitutes, they simply did not match the original material for color. The Semperfli team had their Chadwick's 477 substitute spec'd to match the original! It comes as a 3 ply, making tying of the nice thick Sawyer Killer Bug a cinch. To perfectly replicate the original Killer Bug simply split the 477 Substitute from 3 ply to one and it matches the diameter of the original 477.
I compared the Semperfli Chadwick's 477 sub with the "real thing" and I am afraid it is far from close. Too dark, too brown. Berroco UAF 1214 is a much, much better sub. Nice try, Semperfli. I expected better.

A dozen Killer Bugs...
A dozen Killer Bugs came together so quick with this material. Hold it with a hackle plier and wrap. Right before you start wrapping rotate the material counterclockwise (while in the hack plier and already attached to the hook) and you'll get a great segmenting on the body. The color is just awesome.

This stuff is as...
This stuff is as close to the original Chadwicks 477 color as you're going to get. One could easily tie 100's of Utah's Killer Bugs with 1 yarn card. Makes really nice buggy bodies on other patterns if picked out as well.
