The brass screws really...

The brass screws really help to give your vice that litte extra eye appeal that the black nylon screws don't. I had no problems getting them to fit, but I also just recently bought the vise so it was the new model. I would definately recommend this to anyone wanting to spruce up their vice a little.

The nylon-tipped rotary friction...

The nylon-tipped rotary friction screw is nice and fits great. Seems like a nice touch compared to the nylon screw that is standard. The second screw in the kit does not appear to fit anything on my vise! The package says it is for the bobbin-holder, but the brass screw is twice the size of the original screw there. It is the correct diameter and thread to fit in the height adjustment screw of the C-Clamp, but it is too short. Possibly I have an early model bobbin rest or something. I really like my Peak vise, but I think the brass screws should come standard, and I think if Peak sells them as accessories, they should both fit somewhere. [J. Stockard FF replies...We contacted PEAK Fishing about this problem and turns out that newer PEAK vises take 2 screws the same size, whereas older versions like Joel's need 2 different sizes of screw. PEAK has sent a smaller brass screw directly to Joel to resolve this issue. - James, Customer Service]

These screws will give...

These screws will give your Peak vise a little bit more utilitarian "pop" and will also address long term reliability concerns over the standard plastic screws that come with the basic Peak vise. They are by no a means necessary purchase, but I went ahead and got them anyway and am glad I did. These units are designed to replace the rotary tension screw and the bobbin holder screw. 15 bucks is probably a bit much considering they're brass thumb screws, but I don't necessarily fault Peak for trying to make a little money on accessories when they offer such a great vise for well under typical market value.
