Midge Diamond Braid

For small flies (16-20), the Black Midge Diamond Braid works very well as a peacock herl substitute. Won't require ribbing since it's quite strong (obviously stronger than herl). To my non-fish eyes, it looks like peacock herl!

I use this stuff for wing buds on midges down to size 22. Yes, its that small. I use this in pearl to tie my favorite (and most secret) size 22 midge. Tie it down wing style. Trim it close and the braid comes loose, looking like a perfect little exploding wing bud. I am never without this on my desk.

Great material for small nymphs and midges, either as bodies, flashbacks or if pulled loose from the braid it works great as misc flash, wings or even gills. I get great use from the pearl
