I have been using...

I have been using 2 other vises for the past few years and finally bought the Peak vise and so glad i did. This is a fantastic vise for the price very smooth rotary action, jaws hold very well & easy to adjust and the base is the prefect weight to keep the vise stable. I highly recommend this to any fly tyer it will worth twice the cost.

The quality of this...

The quality of this vice for the money is outstanding. I have been very happy with it and can see myself tying with it for a very long time. It's hard to find a vice of this quality for such a great price. Whether you are just starting out or have been tying for years I would recommend this vice!

I have had this...

I have had this vice for a few months now and I have to say it is pretty darn good. Is it perfect? No. Did I buy an inline, sexy, rotary vice on a shoe string budget? Yes. I tie lots of little tiny #24 dries for trout, and large #1/0 streamers for bass, and it handles both very well. The grip strength is so good i usually bend my hooks before they slip. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this tool, but I will list all the little things wrong with it so I can best inform the next buyer.
The knobs are plastic. The rotary function is smooth, but not always perfectly inline. It requires a minor more amount of force to turn the lever when in the top of the turn. The material clip does not want to stay on straight. Just barely turning the adjustment bolt will change 4 hook sizes. Rotary tension is adjustable, and sometimes changes on its own. The lever to close the jaws rotates slightly, and thus the jaws become slightly unaligned. Sometimes it is hard to reach the back of the fly.
With all that said, there are features minimize the drawbacks. Rotary is always close to inline. The plastic hasn't broken. You can always adjust rotary tension/ jaw strength to how it needs to be. And there is a hex to prevent the jaws from unaligning.
So with all that said, i recommend this vice. It is as good as most of the $250 competitors.
