Tying Atlantic Salmon flies and the like require a very high grade of material in every way.
I ordered a herl from another reputable company and when it arrived the feathers had a maximum length of 4-6" and colors were not vivid at all.
I found the product from JS and at half the price. Hesitantly I placed my first order with them for, among other things, an ostrich plume. When it arrived, the feathers were so long they barely fit in the oversized package, fibers were extremely consistent and colors were great.
My faith was immediately renewed!!!
Really nice stuff

This is really nice stuff, and two sticks is a bunch of material. Its like having really short little marabou strips. I bought it to make collars for a couple of bugs. Then I used it for some scuds which came out great. I am betting this is going to become one of those thousand and one use type materials after awhile.

After initial inspection of product I was happy, but after closer scrutiny and using to tie several flies, I discovered that the entire left portion of the ostrich herl was permanently damaged from packaging or through shipping and handling. I would recommend White though, it is good for tying mysis patterns.
