Great susbtitute for Arctic Fox/Craft Fur

Reviewer: from BELVIDERE, NJ USA

If you like tying with Arctic Fox tail like me, give this a try. Considerably longer and more supple than fox tail. Has almost as much natural movement as marabou with the added benefit of enhanced durability. I find the best use is not to use it as Zonker strips. Trim a generous piece off the pelt, brush a little underfur out, and you have beautiful winging material for big streamers as well as Scandinavian style tube flies.

Inconsistent Packaging

Reviewer: from Quad Cities, USA

I will preface this review that I am very pleased with J. Stockard's material selection and customer service! 5 stars there.
I received white Finn raccoon a while back and was exceptionally disappointed in the amount of material in the package. I have since seen other pkgs of Finn when at fly fishing shows. The packages had the same odd contents of one longer strip and one shorter strip (compared to years ago when the packages contained one longer strip) as my Stockard package did, except that my package had much less material overall.
I now liken this to buying yak hair, buck tail, etc. It's best to buy in person because some packages might contain 30-40% less, but you are still charged the same price.
The Finn was fine otherwise, but I use it to tie pike/,musky flies and having such a short amount of material really impacts how many flies I can tie with it.
Not Stockard's fault - but this is a product I will stick with buying in person.

Amazing

Reviewer: from florida

I use this material to tie tails for streamers. It has life like movement and great action when stripped in the water. The longer strands can be used for streamers and the small light strands can be used for dubbing. Great overall material
