Works fine, poor design/labeling

Reviewer: from Aspen, CO US

I ordered Hareline's Pearlescent Flat Tinsel (narrow), but when it arrived i didn't even know what it was becasue the product was not labeled anywhere on the spool. The other thing I don't like is the fact that you have to use a rubber band to stop the tinsel from unraveling off the spool rather than a built in method directly on the spool.

Try it, you'll like it

If you've never tried this for a shell case on a nymph all I can say is, you're missing out. The light catching properties of the pearlescent material are incredible. It presents a noticeable flash while at the same time complementing, and not over-powering the other colors on your fly. As noted, this is THE "go to" material for your Ray Charles flies. I use the narrow style for Skinny Nelsons and Flashback Quills. I also tie a length on either side of my bucktail for extra sparkle on white bass and wiper streamers. A must have on my fly bench.

Great Tinsel

Reviewer: from Pennsylvania

I use the large size as body material and wing cases for my rainbow warriors and tungsten surveyors. The tinsel works perfectly, and I think Wapsi has updated the spool design. There is an end cap on one side of the spool to catch your tinsel when you are finished with it.

Excellent rib material

Reviewer: from Orange City, IA US

very nice for ribbing for some wet fly patterns. One thing I would suggest is that the spools be marked on their size, narrow, wide etc. Make it easier to identify them.

Great tinsel!

Reviewer: from AL

I use this dub to add flash to streamer patterns or make segmented patterns, The larger version works excellent on the rainbow warrior's!
