Great grip, outstanding quality/craftsmanship. The only downfall of these is, because of the nature of how they grip materials, they don't have much break resistance with peacock herl. ...but I have other pliers that do. The slightest tug will cut/break peacock herl. Plays well with partridge, and other delicate feathers. Plays well with all other types of materials.
I seldomly use hackle pliers so I've tried to get away with the cheaper options, which simply don't work. These are well worth the extra few bucks - easy to open and close, has a secure grip. Works well with all types of materials
