I use the "Regular" size. Good tension on the arms, not flimsy at all. The knobs (don't know what else to call them) that fit into the spool are attached well, no wiggle like cheaper bobbins. But this bobbin has its selling point with the fit to the hand. I have no idea how this is different from any other bobbin out there, it looks dang close save for the fluff in aesthetics, but it just fits my hand better than the cheaper models of other brands. Sure, if you have the money, get yourself an Ekich - they're the best there is, and they retract themselves, but that's a different product than a "standard" bobbin. For those, I prefer this Stonfo one. And hey, it doesn't hurt that it looks better than a usual bent coat-hanger type, too... but believe me, it is the hand feel that has me sold on these things. Try them, you'll be pleased.
I like this bobbin it's small and fit's my hand nicely and thinking of getting another one or two. One to use on my furling bench That small size will be easy to weave between the strands.
Agree with the reviews above, but one detail that makes this user friendly has not been mentioned. Does it seem like the thread is always on the wrong side of the spool when you go to raise the bobbin to the hook? One side of the brass medallion in the middle is concave. This instantly indexes the bobbin in my hand when I roll my fingers to raise it to fly, allowing me to keep tension instead rolling the spool the wrong direction. Nice detail.
I discovered these at a fly fishing show last year and they have become my favorite bobbin hands down. They're the ones I reach for first. Thread feeds smoothly and they are very comfortable in my grip. And the price is good - they don't break the bank. I'm buying a couple more right now.
