Description

Z-Yarn is similar to Betts Standard Z-Lon from Metz, but with a little more crinkle in the fibers, less sheen and much less expensive. It is great for spinner wings, sparkle dun shucks, caddis emerger cases and tails.

You get what you pay for

I'm not saying that this isn't a good product or that it doesn't have quite a few uses but if you are buying this a a substitute for Z-Lon you are making a mistake. However for the price this can't be beat and instead of looking at this product as a Z-Lon replacement look at it as a unique and useful product.

Yarn

Not as good as Z-Lon yarn, but adequate substitute for fraction of the price. Comes in small package, would have liked a little more of it though, and a wider color selection.

Good product

Reviewer: from Minnesota

Other reviewers have correctly pointed out this isn't an exact substitute for Z-lon. However, it's much less expensive, works well, and I highly suspect the fish won't notice that much. Highly recommend for something that costs less than $1.50.

Lots of great uses for this stuff

Reviewer: from CA

Nymphs, emergers, dries, you name it. Pretty krinkly stuff, makes nice parachute posts.

unique stuff.

I use rug yarn(sparkle yarn) antron, z-Lon, and hareline emerger yarn. Emerger yarn has way more sparkle and so does z-Lon. Not much of a difference in it than antron other than its a little duller and its yarn like. z-lon and emerger yarn are not very "yarn" like. This stuff is. Not to say it doesn't have its uses. It is great for spinner wings, posts, trailing shuck, cut up it dubs very easily.
