The one guides call Shake and Bake. Desiccant and powder floatant formula for flies. Simply place soaked flies with tippets attached into the container and shake. This removes water and coats the fly with powder floatant in one easy step. Like Aquel, will not leave a slick on still waters or spring creeks. If you fish the hatches of large flies, such as stoneflies or fish dries for steelhead, this is the floatant for you. Highly recommended for use with CDC flies.
Just got back from a backcountry fly fishing trip in the Smokey Mountain National Park. I used the Top Ride for the first time. It is great. Dries the fly and does not leave an oil slick on the water.
Been using this a couple seasons now. It works as advertised and brings a fly back very easily. Especially good for hackled dry flies you want t ride high. Gel is a good compliment when you'd like to control where you apply the floatant.
