Ive added this stuff to tails of streamers with great results. Like others have stated it is great used in spent wings. One thing I did do with great luck for Great Lakes salmon (in the streams) is tie wolly buggers using nothing but glow in the dark flashabou (except for a bead head and the hackle). It worked great in the early morning. Caught a few salmon (coho) on it and had lots more strikes (some kings and coho). All in all a great material to use when you need that little something extra.
This is another great product in the Flasabou line. I add this to streamers that are intended to be fished deep or in dark conditions, and also to large nighttime dry flies - just a few strands in the wing and you're good to go! The material is a bit stiffer than I would like it to be for streamer patterns, but that quality makes it that much better when added to dry fly wings.
I use a little of this flashabou on all of my spinner patterns. last summer i used it on brown drake patterns that literally meant the difference between catchin no fish (my fishing buddy) and landing well over 20. with just a little of this tied on, it gives your eye someting to track on the water. just give it a quick blast from your headlamp and its good to glow for a half hour or so.
This is great, as it gives your fly some sparkle whether it be daytime or at night. I like to throw this on the underside of my flies, and they have done pretty well. The flash is very easy to work with!
I just finished tying some saltwater teasers I intened to use at night for Stripers and Weakfish.
This stuff is awesome!!! Adds that touch of glow needed to attract the big boys in the dark!!!
