If you tie with both turkey and goose biots, after some time, you will quickly realize the benefits of one over the other. Turkey biots are longer and that helps if you are a "tactile" tier that likes to use their hands over constantly grabbing for hackle pliers...plus turkey is more translucent, as other reviewers have mentioned, and that might be a plus. But goose biots really are THE best at small dry fly bodies (#16 and smaller), and their robust thickness just make the best tailing, wing bud and antennae. Turkey biots tend to taper to a point wayyyyyy too fast. Stick with these goose biots for anything but large dry fly bodies and you won't be disappointed.
these are great for tailing, wrapped bodies on smaller (18-22) flies, as well as for legs and antennae on stoneflies and hellgrammites, and of course wingcases on the prince nymph.
These are great to use for a wide variety of things. They are essential for nymph tails and wings (like on copper john and prince) and also make a great nymph or dry fly body. I recommend getting these in a variety of colors for your tying bench.
