This is by my estimate about 1/2 the diameter of UNI 6/0 yet has nearly the same breaking strength. Its lies flat and adds very little bulk to to your flies. A few exra wraps can really increase the durability and quality of your flies and with this thread adds very little bulk.
I have recently begun tying with this thread after years of using Uni 6/0 and 8/0. I find this thread to be as strong as Uni 8/0 with much less buildup. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a strong, fine thread for their tying needs.
Gordon Griffith 14/0 Sheer Ultrafine has become my favorite thread for small dries. It has incredible strenght for its size and buildup is slow, making it easy to tie nice dries.
I'm thinking about getting the 12 color assortment from JS.
Although the price may seem high, I believe this product's quality makes up for it.
This has become my go to thread for both drys and nymphs in sizes 16-24. The thread does not build up so it is easy to make a neat head. The strength was much higher than I had expected it to be allowing me to tie materials in tightly. If tying comparaduns or deer hair wing patterns I would stick with utc 70 denier but for every other application this works perfect.
