A bodkin has many uses, from raising fibers for a "buggy" look to applying head cement in small quantities to a precise location on the fly. The hexagonal brass handle prevents rolling around your bench and a handy half hitch tool on the end of the handle makes quick work of finishing the fly.
I bought a few of these when they were on sale. Great for picking feathers and dubbing, punching hook eyes, or applying Clear Goo or head cement. Get 3 or 4 for your bench.

This bodkin/half-hitch tool is useful easy to use and useful. I use this tool for my traveling flytying kit, it is small, durable, and practical on the stream side.
I love the texture of the bamboo handle. Some might find it frustrating but I find the texture of the handle really holds the thread as I am getting ready to tie a half hitch.
Cheap, quality tool with nearly unlimited uses. Picking at hackle or dubbing. Applying head cement. Clearing out the hook eye when cluttered up. Picking at and clearing a slightly messy part of the fly. The list goes on and on. Every table should have one.
