Whiting Dry Fly hackle sets the industry standard, and the Bronze grade provides the best value for your fly tying dollar. These 1/4 saddles allow you to get a variety of colors on a limited budget, and are sized toward the smaller end of the scale, from size 14 down to 16 with some 18's, which most dry flies require. Brown may be dyed if the natural is unavailable; other colors are natural unless specified as dyed.

great deal

This is a great deal. You get a ton of hackle in size 14-18 with some 20s. The amount of hackle you get for the price and how many flies you can tie is excellent. If you haven't used whiting before than wake up and start using it, Its unbeatable. And worth every penny.

Dry flies instantly become easier

Reviewer: A viewer from Greenville, SC US

If you have not used dry saddle before you are in for a treat. These saddles are long, the stems are flexible and small, hackle is dense. After tying w/metz for awhile and switching to whiting I was excited about the hackles not twisting when winding and the look of my flies went way up.

Mixed Review

Reviewer: A viewer from Blacksburg, VA US

I ordered three of these, one brown, one grizzly, and one medium dun. The grizzly saddle was top notch, had plenty of feathers from size 12 to 16, with a few 18s. The dun saddle was almost equal quality. Where I was disappointed was with the brown saddle. This one had about half as many feathers, and most were not solid brown. Overall, a good product, however you may end up with one of lower quality.
