I recently received a pack of these as a gift and was skeptical that they would actually tye 100 flies. I was surprised to find I was able to tye six Elk Hair Caddis with each feather. The package I received contained a total of eighteen feathers, which works out to 108 flies I can tye from a single package (roughly 12 cents to hackle each fly).
Other benefit from theses pre-sized hackles are the uniformity of the flies tied and the speed you can tie them (no time wasted picking out the right size of hackle while tying).
Overall a nice product.

Tying through the winter months is a hard thing when it comes to testing the quality of hackle on a dry fly but these saddle packs work great. The barbule count is very decent and dries seem to float just right (unless proportioned wrong). Very recommended.
