Great for pheasant tail nymphs!

Reviewer: A viewer from Springwater, New York US

I use this wire for the body of my pheasant tail nymphs. The wire is strong and works great for my uses.

Good lightweight wire

Reviewer: A viewer from Corvallis, OR US

This is an excellent wire for adding weight to smaller flies, or giving a new quality to bigger patterns without adding much weight. Unfortunatly, the new tyer (like myself) will need to learn a light hand when using this wire, or else be faced with the frustration of breaking it every 4 turns or so!

Ultra Wire Review

Reviewer: A viewer from Canton, GA US

I have been using ultrawire for many years. The variety of colors are great for tying many different patterns and adds extra weight when needed.

Ever heard of the pheasant tail nymph?

Reviewer: A viewer from Greenville, SC US

Small red wire and a few fibers from a pheasant tail is what made the original english pattern called the pheasant tail nymph. I tie this same pattern today using the wire as both weight, building the thorax, and as "tying thread". Wire offers many possibilities to the fly tyer and Wapsi Ultra Wire is definately affordable.

good ribbing

Reviewer: A viewer from Weaverville, NC US

I use this wire for ribbing on Elk Hair Caddis' Parachute Hare Ears and such. Even for small wire it's pretty tough.
