U-40's Cork Seal is designed to seal the surface of cork rod handles. It prevents the penetration of soils, body oil and other materials and therefore preserves that "new cork feel." It also toughens the cork to aid in the prevention of sloughing and chipping of the cork surface. U-40 Cork Seal soaks into the cork and seals in depth. Once it is dry, dirt and grime are easily washed off with soap and water. 2 oz. size.

A Must Have

I purchased this cork seal, primarily to re-vitialize and protect the handle on an old rod of my fathers. The handle was very dry and chipped easily before. After giving it a good cork seal coating, the rod now again feels great losing its uncomfortable chalky teaxture in the hand, and feels as though the coating has given it a decent layer of protection. Since that usage, I've cork sealed all seven on my rods, and two rods built for customers. Utilize this product- for the price its an absolute no brainer.
a Must for a cork grip

I used it, and it changes the feel and the look of the grip slightly. It darkens the cork very slightly, but I really liked the look. Does not make the grip shiny, keeps the dull look you want. The feel is less velvety than untreated cork, but that's a good thing too.
Great product, easy to apply, quick drying and seals the cork brilliantly to make the grip much more dirt-and nick resistant.
Wow, this stuff works

Quick and easy to apply and results are better then I expected. Really helps to protect the cork and helps to shed the water off the grip even after the grip takes a dip. Yes it darkens the cork a little bit but it is not an unsightly appearance. Still offering as an option but highly recommend it.

This product is a no brainer- guys seem to complain about it being non traditional on a fly rod. It slightly darkens the cork(looks better imo) and changes the texture. Id rather have this on and not have to replace a grip than have a clean velvety grip for the first hour of your first fishing trip- after that your treated grip will look and perform better than your untreated grip.
