I've been tying for about 6 years. I learned by myself, browsing the internet for videos, online classes, recipes, etc. For that reason, lots of techniques remained obscure to me. This book came to fill the gapes of those techniques.
I knew the ook was good, because I had read lots of recommendations over the internet, but the book is expensive, so it took long to convince myself to spend the money. I'm happy to have the book now, but should had bought it before.
A must have book

This book is a must have for every fly tier. This book covers every technique I have ever heard of plus plenty more. I have been tying flies for more than 15 years and have never come across a more comprehensize book of tying techniques.
Possibly the best fly tying book out there

You may balk at the price... That is, until you start thumbing through the book. If you're just starting out, or even if you're a 20 year veteran fly tyer, you'll find this volume indispensable. It details, with words and expert photography, just about every tying technique there is. If you're having trouble mounting hair-wings or winding hackles just right, you'll be able to find a number of ways to accomplish each of these task with professional results. You won't find any fly recipes or step-by-step walk-throughs on tying a specific pattern, but if you're like me, you've likely already spent hundreds of dollars on "lesser" books with all this info. This fantastic book is like having a seasoned master tyer peering over your shoulder at the tying bench. A must for serious tyers.
Reference is the Key Word

This is an amazing publication. It should be noted that the focus is not on tying specific flies. Rather, it is a guide to the construction of just about every variation of every part of a fly...from preparing the hook to throwing the last finishing knot. If you in the mood to concoct the next "world's most famous fly", you will want to have access to this book (or CD).
Best book by far

This may indeed be the best book ever on fly tying in general. I have had this for some time and it never leaves the bench. I love it. It contains wonderful high quality photos with great step by steps for almost any and every technique you can think of. At over 400 pages this book is a steal for the price. I cant recommend it highly enough. Buy it!
