Although this tread is great for tying flies, i prefer to wrap guides with it. it has a lower breaking strength than nylon, however, its small diameter alls you to use almost twice the amount of wraps. great stuff.

The thread is great to work with. I use this for rod wrapping and although its not as strong as many nylon threads i prefer it because the result is so much smoother and "thighter" with this silk thread. This thread is not easy to come by here in Sweden. Im really happy its possible to import it from the US!

I've just switched to Pearsall Gossamer silk when tying soft hackle wet flies, and it's terrific. Easy to use and gives a nice translucency when wet, an effect difficult to achieve with other materials. Perfect for wet fly applications.

This silk tying thread is great! Just use some colored thread like red, olive, or orange as a base layer and add white silk overtop. When it gets wet, the silk is transluscent and the base color shows through. The fish go nuts!
