a little goes a long way with this, and although I tend to overcoat the fly sometimes - leaving a slick on the water, it works really well. I always use the remainder on my fingers to coat the leader/tippet, and it works great for this as well.

I haven't tried a ton of floatants. I started with this one and have stuck with it as it's always kept my flies up and seems to stay applied for a while.
Would be a five-star rating; I just don't have enough to compare it against.

I used to use Gink floatant and it was ok but it melted out of the container and was too greasy. I thought I'd give Aqueo Gel a try and I liked it a lot better. I was a little afraid of taking out the whole bottle and possibly spilling it so I put a smaller amount in a small glass bottle with a eye dropper and it applies easier and more efficient. It keeps the fly high and dry. If it gets a little water logged it only takes a few casts back and forth to wring it dry or you can just add a little more. It puts a whole new spin on dry fly fishing as well as getting a fly to just stay under the surface. I'd recommend it to anyone, give it a try.
