You get what you pay for and nothing more with these cheaply made dry fly hooks. I ordered 100 of them, a good price for the money. But after inspection, several hooks had faulty craftsmanship and defects, some of the hook shanks were badly bent, some of the hook eyes were not fully closed, and several hook points broke in the vice. J. Stockard comment: We have had very few quality problems with our JS hooks but if you receive any bad hooks we will replace them promptly, no quesitons asked.
Excellent Dry Fly Hooks

These dry fly hooks are slight smaller gauge wire, but are just as strong. The eye of the hook after the bend (depending on size) is slightly extended (less than 0.5 mm) from the shank allowing for a nice head to be tied without crowding the eye... even on complex patterns with wings, shoulders, and hackle.
