My favorite weight

This is the only wight I use. It does everything that it should, cutting easily without dulling my scissors, wrapping easily, and not coming undone. I don't get why everybody doesn't use this leadfree wire because it's just as good as lead wire but is more environmentally friendly.

If I compare one on one with lead, it is a lighter product, that is why I rated it four stars. Specific gravity of lead is 11, and this product is about 7 or 8... so sink rate will be less. It is soft and does wrap the same. Great to have if around children... you don't have to worry about them getting lead poisoning by accident.
Wish They Had Larger Spools

I prefer to do my part and go lead-free...face it, when going subsurface for fish in the tough spots they like to live, you can lose flies in a hurry. The .015 and .025 sizes are probably the most functional for almost all your trout flies...but if you have the hook/fly size and want to sink faster, the larger sizes will get it done. (Or just consider tungsten heads) This stuff isn't quite as heavy as lead, but it still takes them down well enough. It's also soft enough to pinch off with your fingernails, so no need for scissors. My only desire is for larger spools. Seems I get about ten size-8 or so buggers and the spool is toast.
